Disney Shortens the Theatrical Run of Alice In Wonderland
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Walt Disney Studios has decided that they will be running the upcoming film, "Alice In Wonderland", for only 12 weeks in North American and The U.K., as opposed to the original window of 17 weeks.

While this change is welcomed by the home entertainment industry, cinema owners are less than thrilled, and even has threatened to pursue action against Disney for the decision. Phil clapp, chief executive of the Cinema Exhibitors' Assn., said, "We are aware that discussions are underway between the major circuits and Disney over the booking of 'Alice,'. As ever, this is a commercial consideration for each company and they will each make a decision based on the outcome of those discussions." He feels that any alterations to the 17 week window should be based on a per-film basis.
