Although there were issues with her schedule, these have now been resolved as Mary Jane's role is only a relatively small part in the second movie although it is claimed her role will become more prominent in the third movie.
This news must add more fuel to the fire that the studio is indeed following the "Death of Gwen Stacy" storyline. Andrew Garfield will again reprise the role of the webslinger while Emma Stone is expected to once again play Gwen Stacey in the second movie that is due out May 2014.
