Director and Producer Garry Marshall Dies at 81
Garry Marshall, accomplished director, producer and actor, has died.  He was 81.

His career spanned over 60 years, and Marshall was responsible for some of our greatest television, including "Happy Days", "Mork and Mindy", "Laverne and Shirley" and "The Odd Couple". He also directed 18 films, including "Pretty Woman", "Beaches, "Overboard" and "Princess Diaries".  

He started his career as a writer and never looked back.  He can be credited with launching Julia Roberts' career as well as Henry Winkler.  Winkler tweeted the following last night: "GARRY MARSHALL Rest In Peace. Thank you for my professional life. Thank you for your loyalty , friendship and generosity."

Marshall is survived by his wife, Barbara, to whom he was married for 53 years; son Scott, a film director; and daughters Lori, an actress and casting director, and Kathleen, an actress; six grandchildren; and sisters Penny Marshall, an actress and film director, and Ronny Hallin, a TV producer.
