Will & Grace to Return to NBC
Will & Grace, the Emmy Award-winning series that aired on NBC, is coming back.  The show will return to NBC with a 10-episode deal, which will bring the season total to 9.

Eric McCormack, Debra Messing, Megan Mullally and Sean Hayes will all be returning, along with creators/executive producers Max Mutchnick and David Kohan.  James Burrows will also return as director and executive producer.

NBC Entertainment president Jennifer Salke said, "We started talking with Mutchnick and Kohan about producing new episodes right after they shot the secret reunion show back in September, and the fact that all four of the original stars were excited about getting back into production is a testament to the joyful experience they had doing nearly 200 episodes for eight seasons. Few things cut through the clutter these days, especially in comedy, and Will and Grace is one of the best."

Will and Grace originally ran from 1998-2006 and was one of NBC's biggest shows.  The series won 16 Emmy Awards including best comedy series and helped bring more openly gay characters to Prime Time.

The new ninth series was spawned from the popularity of an election-themed mini-episode that was released on Sept. 26. The show follows in the footsteps of Arrested Development, Fuller House and Gilmore Girls in bringing back an updated version of the show.

NBC Entertainment Chairman Robert Greenblatt said, "We're thrilled that one of the smartest, funniest, and most defining comedies in NBC history is coming back. This groundbreaking series for everything from gay rights to social and political commentary - all disguised as a high-speed train of witty pop culture - is coming back where it belongs."

The series will air during the 2017-2018 season.
