The Iron Fist Canceled After 2 Seasons
The Netflix/Marvel series The Iron Fist has been canceled after two seasons. The announcement was made yesterday.

While the series wasn't quite as popular as the other Defender shows (Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones), some say that the second season was better than the first and gave hope for an even better season 3.

Below is the joint statement made from Marvel and Netflix:

Marvel's Iron Fist will not return for a third season on Netflix. Everyone at Marvel Television and Netflix is proud of the series and grateful for all of the hard work from our incredible cast, crew and showrunners. We're thankful to the fans who have watched these two seasons, and for the partnership we've shared on this series. While the series on Netflix has ended, the immortal Iron Fist will live on.

One wonders if that last sentence truly has some meaning. Will the character of Danny Rand return in the other Marvel series as a guest? Will Disney release another Iron Fist product on their own streaming service? Only time will tell.
