Rhianna Makes Musical Comeback with Black Panther Soundtrack Single

Rhianna will be making a long-awaited musical comeback with a single for the upcoming Marvel film, "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever".

The song, titled "Lift Me Up", is a tribute to the lie and legacy of Chadwick Boseman, and will be released on October 28. It was written by Tems, Ludwig Göransson, Rihanna, and director Ryan Coogler.

"After speaking with Ryan and hearing his direction for the film and the song, I wanted to write something that portrays a warm embrace from all the people that I've lost in my life. I tried to imagine what it would feel like if I could sing to them now and express how much I miss them. Rihanna has been an inspiration to me so hearing her convey this song is a great honor," said Tems.

Boseman played King T'Challa in "Black Panther" and died of colon cancer in 2020 at the age of 43. "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" will usher in a new era, with its leaders dealing with the death of the King, and protecting their nation from other powers.

Rhianna's last full-length release was back in 2016.

More details about the  "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" soundtrack, set to be released on November 4, aren't yet available.
