Fantastic Beasts to Encompass a Five-Film Franchise

While attending a global event for Warner Bros. Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them, J.K. Rowling announced that there will be a total of five films in the Harry Potter spin-off franchise. Originally, Rowling stated the franchise would be a trilogy. The event also featured he first 10 minutes of the movie and a featurette.

The first film stars Eddie Redmayne and will be released on November 18 of this year. It was also teased that there will be an appearance by a young Albus Dumbledore, as well as Gellert Grindelwald.

The second film in the franchise will be set in another, still unknown, global city, and is slated for a November 16, 2018 release.
