MTV Movie & TV Awards Gets Revamped; Complete 2017 Nominee List
MTV Movie Awards has gotten a makeover.  The awards show has now expanded their categories to include TV and streaming, but they also will be the first to eliminate gender from the categories.  This year, we will see a mix of male and females competing against each other for the Best Actor Award. This is a pretty big step since no other award show has ever been close to doing anything this progressive.

Leading the award nominee totals is "Get Out" with 6 nominations, followed by "Beauty and the Beast" and "Stranger Things", both with four nominations each. "Atlanta", "Game of Thrones", "Hidden Figures", "Logan", "Moonlight" and "This Is Us" each earned three nominations.

New categories have also been created, such as Show of the Year, Best Host, Best Reality Competition, Tearjerker and Next Generation. Two other categories that are new to the show are Best American Story, awarded to the project that shows America at its best, and Best Fight Against the System, which showcases characters who fight those who try to keep them down.

The revamped MTV Movie & TV Awards show will air on May 7.
