BBC America to Air Doctor Who Christmas Special

Peter Capaldi will be leaving the Doctor Who series but not before getting a proper sendoff. Capaldi's last venture as the Twelfth Doctor will take place during a special Christmas episode.

The episode, titled Twice Upon A Time, will also feature the first-ever Doctor (David Bradley) and a returning Bill Potts (Pearl Mackie). We will also be introduced to the Thirteenth Doctor, Jodie Whittaker. The 60-minute special will take on an emotional and magical journey with two Doctors stranded in an Arctic snowscape (refusing to face regeneration), enchanted glass people stealing their victims from frozen time, and a World War One captain destined to die on the battlefield, but taken from the trenches to play his part in the Doctor's story.

Also starring in the episode will be Mark Gatiss as The Captain and Nikki Amuka-Bird as the voice of the glass woman.

The special was written by Steven Moffat, directed by Rachel Talalay, and executive produced by Brian Minchin.

Doctor Who: Twice Upon A Time will premiere this Christmas on BBC America.

FlickDirect had the pleasure of interviewing the cast and writers of BBC's Doctor Who at San Diego Comic Con about the choice for the new Doctor. You can see that interview below.
