DC FanDome Announces John Ridley Penned Comic Book Miniseries

The DC FanDome event that kicked off today has been full of exclusive announcements/trailers and exciting surprises.  From footage of Zack Snyder's Justice League to the entire cast of Suicide Squad talking about the new film, fans of DC have had an overload of information to absorb.  Although much of the event has focused on upcoming movies, television shows, and highly anticipated video games, one highlight for comic book aficionados was the announcement of a four-issue miniseries that will be a collaboration between screenwriter John Ridley (12 Years a Slave) and artist Nick Derington (Doom Patrol).

Ridley fanned the fires of the previous speculation when he announced. "I think it's a pretty safe bet that if I'm writing Batman, it's probably a little better than a 47% chance he's going to be a person of color,".  He also stated the series will focus on Lucius Fox and his family.   Ridley revealed the head of Wayne Enterprises and his family have secrets, even ones they have kept from each other.

While the comic books won't be available until January 2021, more details will be discussed during the Batman: The Joker War panel at DC FanDome: Explore the Multiverse, Saturday, September 12 at 10amPT/1pmET.
