The nominees for the 2025 Golden Globes have been announced, showcasing leading contenders like Wicked, Gladiator II, Anora, Emilia Pérez, A Complete Unknown, Baby Reindeer, The Bear, Shōgun, and Slow Horses.

Emilia Pérez dominates the film category with 10 nominations, followed by The Brutalist with seven and Conclave with six. On the television side, FX's The Bear leads with five nominations, while Only Murders in the Building and Shōgun each earned four. Blockbusters like Wicked, Gladiator II, and Dune: Part II performed well but trailed festival favorites, collectively earning eight nominations. Notable performances by Selena Gomez (Emilia Pérez, Only Murders in the Building), Kate Winslet (Lee, The Regime), and Sebastian Stan (The Apprentice, A Different Man) garnered recognition across multiple categories.

Denzel Washington made history, becoming the most-nominated Black performer in Golden Globe history with his 11th nomination. Meanwhile, Hans Zimmer earned his 16th nomination, closing in on John Williams' record of 24. Steve Martin secured his fourth consecutive nomination for Only Murders in the Building in the Best Television Actor in a Musical or Comedy Series category, bringing his career total to nine nominations, though he remains winless.

There are 26 first-time nominees, including Pamela Anderson, Zoe Saldana, Glen Powell, Ariana Grande, Jesse Plemons, Karla Sofia Gascon, and Nikki Glaser, who will also host this year’s ceremony.

Netflix leads in total nominations for both film and television, with 13 and 23 nods, respectively. On the television side, HBO/Max comes in second with 14 nominations, while A24 trails Netflix closely on the film front with 12 nods.

The 2025 Golden Globes will introduce two new award categories: Cinematic and Box Office Achievement and Best Performance in Stand-Up Comedy on Television. Viola Davis will receive the Cecil B. DeMille Award for her outstanding contributions to film, and Ted Danson will be honored with the Carol Burnett Award for his achievements in television.

The 82nd Annual Golden Globe Awards ceremony will air live on CBS and stream on Paramount+ on Sunday, January 5, 2025. This marks the first event in a five-year broadcasting partnership between CBS and the Golden Globes.
