Prequel to Polanski's Chinatown Reportedly in the Works
Deadline has reported that Netflix has a prequel to "Chinatown" in the works. The classic film that starred Jack Nicholson and Faye Dunaway was released in 1974 and directed by Roman Polanski.

The project will be written by David Fincher and Robert Towne and will follow the story of J.J. Gittes (Nicholson's character) as a young private investigator.

David Fincher has worked with Netflix on "House of Cards" as well as "Mindhunters" and "Love, Death & Robots."

Robert Towne is known for his work on "The Last Detail", "Shampoo" and "Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes."
