Hellraiser Series Coming to HBO

The classic horror franchise "Hellraiser" is coming to HBO. The network has announced that they will be releasing a new series based on the franchise. "Halloween" director David Gordon Green will be directing the pilot and a few more beginning episodes.

"Hellraiser" features the iconic character Pinhead, who leads a group of villains called the Cenobites. The franchise has been around for 35 years and includes 10 films.

Mark Verheiden (Battlestar Galactica, Daredevil, Heroes) and Michael Dougherty (X-Men United, Godzilla: King of the Monsters, Trick r' Treat) will be penning the series, as well as executive producing alongside Farah Films' Dan Farah, Andrew Farah, Adam Salzman, Vertigo Entertainment's Roy Lee, Lawrence Kuppin and David Salzman, Panacea Entertainment's Eric Gardner, Rough House Pictures partners Green, Danny McBride, Jody Hill, and Brandon James.

The series will not only continue but also expand upon the franchise mythology.
