Bad Boys 4: Will Smith & Martin Lawrence Reunite for Next Installment of Action-Comedy Franchise

Will Smith and Martin Lawrence took to social media today to announce that they will be starring in a fourth "Bad Boys" movie. Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah will return to direct and Chris Bremner will pen the script.

The "Bad Boys" franchise is a popular action-comedy film series that follows the adventures of two Miami police detectives, Mike Lowrey (Will Smith) and Marcus Burnett (Martin Lawrence), as they work to stop criminals and save the city. The films are known for their mix of humor, action, and fast-paced plot lines, as well as the chemistry between Smith and Lawrence.

The first "Bad Boys" film was released in 1995 and directed by Michael Bay. It was a commercial success, grossing over $140 million worldwide. The film follows Mike and Marcus as they work to stop a drug lord who has stolen $100 million worth of heroin. The film was praised for its action sequences and the comedic chemistry between Smith and Lawrence.

The second film in the franchise, "Bad Boys II," was released in 2003. Directed once again by Michael Bay, the film saw Mike and Marcus working to stop a drug cartel that is smuggling ecstasy into Miami. The third film in the franchise, "Bad Boys for Life," was released in 2020 and directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah. The film sees Mike and Marcus teaming up once again to stop a new threat to the city of Miami. The film was a critical and commercial success, grossing over $426 million worldwide. It was praised for its action scenes, as well as the growth and development of the characters of Mike and Marcus over the years.

The film is currently in preproduction at Sony Pictures.
