Being single in your twenties isn't easy. Trying to figure out life as an adult is more than enough but dating is a whole other issue. For Corinne (Odessa A'zion) meeting people means just turning on her outgoing personality. For Jane's best friend, Jane (Yara Shahidi), an introvert by nature, the experience is much less appealing. To help Jane, a talented baker, Corrine challenges Jane to bake a cake and bring it to a bar with her as an icebreaker. Throughout the year-long experiment, the friends deal with all manner of people and issues.
